Whether analog or digital signal processing, the powerful NET-CPU modules can be expanded with up to 64 NET-DEV devices. The maximum number of I/Os currently reaches up to 1024.

Easy installation thanks to DIN rail bus

Thanks to the practical NET-Bus connector, which is clipped into the top-hat rail, individual modules of a system can be added or exchanged very easily. This Plug’n Play principle makes commissioning easier and eliminates the need for tiresome wiring.

More security due to encryption

Since Ethernet products are usually accessible worldwide, attackers can hack into an unprotected system and cause great damage to downstream systems. To make this more difficult, the communication to the interface module can be completely encrypted – whether via the DELIB API or direct addressing at protocol level. Additional protection against unauthorized access is provided by the integrated web interface with a password-protected login system.

Control with the DELIB driver library & command line interface

Our DELIB driver library for Windows, offers a variety of test and configuration programs for the commissioning of our modules. Drivers are also available for Linux.

Our CLI allows a comfortable and appealing use of our products with Ethernet and USB interface. Our digital and analog inputs/outputs are supported. The CLI is available for both Windows and Linux.

I/O-Control APP for Android™

Configuration of CAN modules

Depending on the product series, our CAN modules can be configured either by software or DIP switches. Depending on the mode used, the modules are controlled via the open CAN protocol (2.0A or 2.0B) or via the automatic receive mode (Auto-RX) or automatic transmit mode (Auto-TX). The Auto-TX mode allows cyclic transmission of data packets, optionally with analog or digital input states to other CAN addresses. Alternatively, a trigger event can be defined. Here a data packet is only transmitted if a data packet on a certain CAN ID has been received before (e.g. CAN sync to ID 0x80). With the Auto-RX mode, however, received data packets are forwarded directly to analog or digital outputs. For example, relay outputs can be set via another CAN bus participant.

Selection of the operating mode via DIP switch

Depending on the product series, your module can be operated in up to three different modes. The desired mode is selected via DIP switch (RO series and BS series only). The settings of the DIP-switches are taken over after a restart of the product.

1. Dip switch mode (RO series only)

The following CAN parameters can be set by means of DIP switches:

  • Baud rate
  • CAN address

2. Preferred mode (RO series and BS series only)

If the product is operated in preferred mode, the following default values are used for communication:

  • Baud rate: 100 kHz
  • CAN-ID: 0x100
  • Master-ID: 1

3. Software mode (for NET series, RO series and BS series)

In software mode the parameters of the CAN interface are completely configured via the CAN configuration utility included in the scope of delivery. In addition to the baud rate, CAN address and other settings, it can also be used to set up automatic send and receive packets.

CAN Configuration Utiliy

With this software, which is included in delivery, the following settings can be made on our CAN modules:

  • Baud rate
  • CAN address
  • Automatic send / receive mode

More details about the control and some programming examples can be found in the programming section.

Configuration of Ethernet modules

Modules with a 10/100 Mbit Ethernet interface can be connected directly to a PC or to a network LAN. The following two options are available for configuration:

1. Web interface

The Ethernet module has its own web server that can be used to change the following parameters:

  • IP address
  • Netmask
  • Std. Gateway
  • DNS Server

2. DELIB Configuration Utiliy

With the DELIB Configuration Utility the network can be automatically searched for DEDITEC products. All modules found can then be configured with a few clicks. The following parameters can be displayed and partly changed:

  • MAC address
  • DHCP or static IP
  • IP address
  • Module name
  • Product type
  • Netmask
  • Std.-Gateway

Configuration of the serial modules

Our serial modules of the RO-series and NET-series are able to handle the standards RS-232 and RS-485. At delivery the modules are always designed for RS-232 operation, but can be reconfigured to RS-485 by changing the jumper positions on the module. For further information please refer to the manual of the respective product.

Setting the RS-232 / RS-485 parameters via DIP switches

By means of DIP switches the following parameters can be set:

  • Module address (only for RS-485)
  • Baud rate
  • Preferred mode (115k Baud, module address = deactivated, echo = off)
  • Text Mode / Register Mode

More details about the control and some programming examples can be found in the programming section.

Configuration of USB modules

Products with USB interface are automatically recognized by the DELIB driver library. A configuration is only necessary if several identical USB products are to be used on the same system.

Several identical USB modules on one system

Each of our USB products has the module number “0” in the delivery state. When using more than one USB module on a PC / system, a new module number must first be assigned to each additional module. This assignment is done with our DELIB configuration utility. Only in this way can a clear assignment be made by the software. The module number is stored permanently in the product. Up to 255 identical modules can be used on one system.

More details about the control and some programming examples can be found in the programming section.

Web Interface – Interface

All DEDITEC Ethernet modules have a web interface that allows you to make settings conveniently via your web browser and also gives you direct access to the I/Os.
