Quickstart
This quick start guide helps you get your DEDITEC module up and running quickly and easily. From installing the necessary software to adding your module and performing initial diagnostics and firmware updates,
it provides a concise overview of all the important steps.
This quick start guide is also included as a printed flyer with your module, so you always have all the basic information at your fingertips.
Connecting hardware
Power supply
Only use a power supply unit with a +7 V … +24 V DC output and observe the polarity of the connection terminals.

Interfaces
USB cable (Type B or Type C) Connect the module directly to your PC or a USB hub using the USB cable provided.
Ethernet interface
Connect the module directly to your PC using an Ethernet crossover cable. To connect to an Ethernet switch or router, please use a standard Ethernet cable.
CAN/RS-232 interface
Connect the module to your data bus line using the 9-pin D-SUB socket.
Pin assignment
| Pin 2 | RS-232 TX | Pin 2 | CAN LOW |
| Pin 3 | RS-232 RX | Pin 7 | CAN HIGH |
| Pin 5 | RS-232 GND | Pin 5 | CAN GND |
Terminate both ends of the CAN bus with 120 ohms each.
Setup
The DELIB-Setup guides you through the installation of our DELIB driver library. This installs all necessary drivers and utility programs on your Windows PC.
Note: We also offer a pure Ethernet version of the DELIB driver library. This has the advantage that no installation of the driver library is necessary. (Useful if no admin rights are available)
Our current version of the DELIB-Setup for Linux and Windows in 32-bit or 64-bit versions, as well as further information, can be found here:
Add module
After you have successfully installed the driver library, start the “ICT-Tool” program from the installation path you selected or from the Windows Start menu.
Now add the module you have connected using the “+” button.
USB
Thanks to Plug & Play, a USB module is automatically recognized by the operating system and can be selected immediately.
Ethernet
The module can be operated either via DHCP or with a static IP address. To deactivate DHCP, set DIP switch 1 on the module to “off.” The default IP address is set to 192.168.1.1 in the factory settings.
Serial / CAN
Configuration is performed via the module’s configuration interface (Ethernet or USB).
ICT-Tool: Module Configuration + Testing
The ICT-tool contains various sections where you can configure, test, and update your module.
ICT-Tool – Configuration
Here you can change the properties of the individual modules, such as IP address, module number, CAN addresses, baud rate, or define your own default values to be loaded when the module is started.
ICT-Tool – I/O Test
Here you can test the digital and analog I/O ports of the entire module. Set a relay output with a mouse click, check the states of the optocoupler inputs, output voltage with a DA converter, and much more.
ICT-Tool: Firmware update / diagnostics
ICT-Tool – Firmware Update
Here you can update your product’s firmware to the latest version. You can download the latest firmware version from our website or directly from the ICT-Tool.
ICT-Tool – diagnostics section
Our ICT-Tool offers extensive diagnostic functions that enable targeted detection of errors in the control system or wiring. Any DELIB errors that occur are automatically recorded and used for detailed analysis in the event of possible malfunctions.
