Flexible USB module with 8 switching relays

Flexible USB module with 8 switching relays
With the RO-USB-R8_UM, DEDITEC GmbH in Brühl is expanding its range of I/O modules.

The RO-USB-R8_UM is a USB module with 8 relay outputs (30V, 2A, 60W). The special feature of this module is that the relay outputs are implemented by so-called bistable changeover relays. These changeover relays each have a changeover contact, which allows the relay to function both as a normally open contact and as a normally closed contact. Compared to conventional relays, which require a constant current to maintain the switching position, the changeover relays only require a short current pulse. This enables the changeover relays to maintain the switching voltage even after a loss of voltage. In addition, each changeover relay has 2 LEDs for status indication.

Communication between the module and the PC takes place, for example, via a galvanically isolated USB interface, which also allows ranges of over 100 m. Interference pulses that could be caused by running motors do not therefore interfere with USB data transmission.

The compact module, measuring 122 mm x 85 mm x 52 mm (L x W x H), also has a DIN rail mount, making it easy to install in distribution cabinets or sub-distribution boards. The power supply (7V to 24V) can be provided by a standard power supply unit.

Highly popular due to its great flexibility!

The changeover relay outputs of the RO series can be expanded in 8-fold increments (max. 64) and can of course be combined with other interfaces (ETH, CAN, or RS-232/RS-485 interface) or submodules (e.g., other digital I/Os or temperature inputs) of the RO series! Existing modules can also be expanded with switching relay outputs.

Software

The extensive Windows driver library (DELIB) enables uniform and very simple control of the modules in almost all available programming languages. At the same time, numerous ready-made configuration and test programs are available to the customer after installation of the DELIB.
