The challenges in this area lie primarily in the consistent measurement and balancing of voltage levels within the networks—a task that is becoming increasingly important, but also more difficult, with the increase in the share of renewable energies and the associated fluctuations in supply.

As a result, “economic unreasonableness” is increasingly leading to the rejection of PV systems. Energy suppliers fear that the changing energy inputs from such systems will cause voltage fluctuations and potentially overload the grid. The supplier is obliged to ensure that voltage fluctuations do not exceed 3% (connection guideline VDE-AR-N 4105). Traditionally, this could only be ensured by expanding the grid, which involved high costs.

With the LVRSys® low-voltage regulation system, A. Eberle offers a solution that not only reliably buffers loads and regulates voltage levels, but is also economically attractive: voltage regulation ensures optimal use of the existing grid, eliminating the need to expand existing grids even when the feed-in of renewable energies causes fluctuations.

While A. Eberle develops resource-saving solutions for energy suppliers, DEDITEC GmbH contributes an embedded Linux processor module based on ARM®9 that it developed itself, thereby supporting creative engineering with precise implementation expertise.
