DEDITEC Ethernet products now with encrypted protocol

The Brühl-based company DEDITEC is today introducing its new encrypted protocol for Ethernet products, which protects its in-house I/O modules against unauthorized access.

Users can choose between two encryption modes (normal or admin encryption, each with its own password). The passwords and which encryption mode is to be supported by the module can be specified on the module’s web interface. All I/O access via the web interface or the unencrypted protocol can also be deactivated here.

Encrypted communication via DELIB driver library

For Windows and Linux users, the DELIB configuration utility and the DapiOpenModuleEx command have also been revised so that the protocol and password to be used can be specified here. All communication between DELIB and the Ethernet product is then automatically encrypted in the background.

Encryption without DELIB driver library

Encryption is also available for platform- and operating system-independent communication without the DELIB driver library (purely via the TCP protocol). Upon request, we will be happy to provide you with all the necessary encryption routines in Visual C.
