USB Module with 8 Relay Outputs and 8 Optocoupler Inputs

The company DEDITEC from Brühl presents its new cost-effective standalone USB module: USB-OPTOIN-8-RELAIS-8. This module features 8 galvanically isolated relay outputs and 8 optocoupler inputs.

The input channels of the USB-OPTOIN-8-RELAIS-8 are factory-set for switching voltages between 15V and 30V. The user has the option to switch to a lower voltage range (5V to 15V) without opening the device housing. Additionally, each input channel includes its own 16-bit counter, allowing for the tracking of input state changes.

The outputs are implemented using galvanically isolated relay contacts. These relays support a maximum switching voltage of 36V DC (1A, 15 watts).

Timeout Protection

A timeout protection feature is included, which automatically deactivates the module if no communication occurs within a predefined period. This feature must be activated via software and is then handled by hardware. This prevents issues such as a motor continuing to run if the PC crashes.

The compact module, measuring 105 x 102.5 x 74.5 mm (L x W x H), includes a DIN rail mounting bracket, making it easy to install in distribution cabinets or sub-distribution systems. Power can be supplied either via the PC’s USB port or from an external power source.

Software

The comprehensive Windows driver library (DELIB) allows for unified and easy control of the modules in nearly all common programming languages, such as C/C++, Visual Basic, Delphi, C#, VB.NET, or Java.

After installing DELIB, users gain access to a variety of preconfigured setup and testing applications.
