We are proud of our new product: the DEDITEC CAN-Box for all mobile applications.
CAN-Box
Agricultural machinery, fire-fighting vehicles, construction site vehicles or mobile homes: they all need CAN boxes to establish a secure connection between the user front end (i.e. the driver) and the actuator (responsible for the power supply or an action to be carried out). Modern special vehicles are inconceivable without these important control units, as they initiate actions such as switching a siren, lowering a harrow or swiveling a boom.
Hardware
DEDITEC GmbH is therefore proud of its new CAN-IO-Box: The CB-R8-M4-AD8 model is a stand-alone I/O module with a CAN bus interface as a communication option and an additional USB interface for simple configuration using a PC or notebook.
Both proven, potential-free changeover relays and P-Ch. MOSFETs are used as switching outputs. Numerous 12-bit A/D inputs can be used to monitor external voltages.
In order to cover the widest possible range of applications in the automotive sector, we have designed the operating voltage of the standard CAN box for 7V up to 24V DC and the extended version for 10V up to 48V DC.
Software
Like all DEDITEC modules, the CAN-IO-BOX can also be completely configured using the ICT tool. Thanks to the USB interface, a connection to the PC can be established quickly and easily.
All CAN configurations, such as baud rate and TX/RX packet settings, can be made using the ICT tool. In addition, all inputs/outputs can be tested and diagnosed with the ICT tool. Firmware updates can also be carried out via the USB interface using this software.
Thanks to the new “Event Control” software feature of the DEDITEC products, additional actions can be stored in the module that are triggered automatically as soon as a preset condition is met.
For example, a relay or MOSFET can be triggered as soon as a certain voltage is measured on the A/D channels. It is also possible to switch relays or send CAN packets (TX mode) as soon as a specific CAN packet is received (RX mode).
