Ethernet starter module with either 8 relay outputs or 8 opto inputs

Due to numerous requests, the Brühl-based company DEDITEC is offering the Ethernet Starter Series, which provides a cost-effective entry into the mobile world of digital I/Os. These entry-level modules are compact, stand-alone Ethernet modules with either 8 optocoupler inputs (ETH-OPTOIN-8) or 8 relay outputs (ETH-RELAIS-8).

The 8 input channels of the ETH-OPTOIN-8 are designed for a standard switching voltage of 24V (optionally also 5-24V). In addition, each input channel has its own 16-bit counter to independently count input events. Furthermore, input flip-flops are available to detect rapid state changes between two readout cycles, which can be read out separately via software. With an adjustable input filter (5-255 ms) for the counters and flip-flops, this module allows a counting frequency of up to 100 Hz.

The outputs of the ETH-RELAIS-8 are implemented via 8 galvanically isolated relay outputs. The maximum switching voltage is 36V DC (1A, 10 watts), which can be extended to up to 230V with optional accessories. In addition, timeout protection has been integrated, which automatically switches off the module if it cannot be addressed within a predefined period of time.

The compact modules, measuring 90 x 77 x 55 mm (L x W x H), also have a DIN rail mount, making them easy to install in distribution cabinets or sub-distribution boards. The power supply (12V to 24V) can be provided by a standard power supply unit.

Software

The extensive Windows driver library (DELIB) enables uniform and very simple control of the modules in almost all available programming languages. At the same time, a ready-made configuration and test program is available to the customer after installation of the DELIB driver library.

Control

Thanks to the open Ethernet protocol, DEDITEC Ethernet products can be easily integrated into existing control systems with Ethernet access in order to communicate with other bus participants.
These modules can also be controlled worldwide, either via the integrated web server using an Internet browser or via the free Android™ app I/O-Control using a smartphone/tablet.
