Ethernet Switching Module with Digital Inputs/Outputs

DEDITEC, based in Brühl, expands its wide range of I/O modules with an Ethernet module featuring 16 inputs and 16 outputs.
Up until now, measurement and control modules with relays, optocoupler inputs, A/D, D/A, and stepper functions could only be controlled via interfaces such as CAN, USB, RS-232, and RS-485.

Ethernet Interface

Thanks to the Ethernet interface, all modules can now be accessed via LAN or the global internet. Additionally, the data transmission rates are significantly faster than with USB or serial modules. This is especially beneficial for time-critical applications.

Control of Digital and Analog I/O Modules

All I/O modules of the RO series can be controlled in two ways:
Users can either write their own programs using the provided communication protocols or use the included DELIB driver library, which handles communication over TCP/IP.

Configuration

There are two options for configuration:
Either via the DELIB Configuration Utility or through the module’s internal web server.
The DELIB utility is an easy-to-use Windows tool that allows you to configure basic settings and discover modules whose default IP address is outside your network range, or when IP conflicts occur.
Additional settings can be made comfortably via the internal web server of the Ethernet module.

Inputs and Outputs

An input module offers 16 galvanically isolated channels, designed for 30V AC (optional versions for 15V, 12V, or 5V are available). Each channel includes a 16-bit counter and an LED to indicate signal status.
An output module provides 16 galvanically isolated channels using reed relays. These reliably switch up to 36V/1A AC. Signal states are also indicated via LEDs.
A configurable timeout feature can deactivate the outputs if needed.

Features

Additional features such as automatic email notifications for defined events and password protection will be available soon.
The manufacturer’s website also offers a variety of example programs for the most common programming languages.
