DEDITEC filter software for A/D converters smoothes and optimizes measurement results optionally and configurably
Long cable runs and other disturbance variables influence the accuracy of measurements by A/D measurement modules. DEDITEC A/D filter software offers an optional remedy and can be precisely configured to ensure accurate measurement results.
A/D filter
Sensors are often connected to the A/D measurement module via several meters of cable. As A/D converters can measure very small voltage differences, even small interferences that affect the A/D measuring cable are measured by the A/D converter. This is usually undesirable.
The software-based A/D filter integrated by DEDITEC provides a remedy. This A/D filter has been integrated into the Cortex microcontroller by DEDITEC engineers, which controls the A/D converter. The A/D filter can be switched off in the 0 position or set to a desired level. The averaging function programmed into the software smoothes measured A/D values and ensures realistic measurement results.
For example, with an A/D filter level of 10, the average value of 10 A/D measurements is determined in order to return a cleaner value. However, it should be noted that an active A/D filter level increases the duration of the measurements: the calculated average value is only passed on once the set number of measurements has been taken.
