Control of serial modules

Please note!
We recommend using the RS-485 interface (only possible with RO series and NET series modules) only in conjunction with a microcontroller and its own serial protocol.

Control via our disclosed serial protocol

If required, you can program your own control system yourself. The protocol for this, which describes the communication on the serial interface, is disclosed. Control is register-based. An open communication protocol has been created for this purpose, which is used to address the module's registers and thus execute read or write commands. The "Protocols & Register Assignment" manual describes the send and receive frames for communicating with RS-232/RS-485 modules.

Control of the RS-232/RS-485 modules via plain text using Hyperterminal
The digital inputs and outputs can be controlled or read out directly via "clear text" using the hyperterminal. You can see examples of this in the adjacent illustration.
