Data processing in real time
In order to be able to process data streams constantly and at short intervals, external interference factors such as network utilization or large spatial distances must be avoided. As this is often not possible in practice, it is necessary to record the data first and store it temporarily in a buffer.
In our NET series modules, we have therefore integrated a software FIFO ("First in-First out"), which stores the required data directly on the module and then processes it independently at a defined time interval. This happens both for incoming data (FIFO-IN) and for outgoing data (FIFO-OUT). The FIFO buffer significantly improves the processes in our measurement procedures and reduces network utilization.
All the advantages at a glance:
- Analog and digital values can be read out at very short intervals (milliseconds)
- Exact readout of values in a self-defined time interval possible
- The FIFO does not consume more traffic at higher utilization via the Ethernet interface
Testing and programming
You can use our ICT tool to test and diagnose the FIFO-IN and FIFO-OUT with digital and analog I/Os.
