Small measuring tasks, big demands – DEDITEC presents ten new USB and CAN modules in the UC series

DEDITEC is expanding its measurement technology portfolio with ten new single measurement modules with interface and I/O module in a compact housing. As D/A or A/D converters, the stand-alone modules with USB and CAN interface offer a wide range of possible applications.

The new UC-USB-AD2-16_ISO: 16-bit A/D converter with galvanic isolation from DEDITEC offers greater safety when measuring and monitoring voltages and currents. Galvanic isolation protects the module and the connected microprocessor circuit. The stand-alone modules enable USB-C with an access times of 2.06 ms. The galvanic isolation ensures a safe, potential-free connection between the two channels and to ground.

 

The conversion of digital to analog or vice versa analog to digital signals are central tasks in measurement and control technology. As a developer and solution provider in the field of hardware for control, sensor and measurement technology, DEDITEC GmbH offers a versatile product portfolio of modular components for measurement systems, based on an interface module in combination with various I/O modules. As the modular design quickly becomes oversized, especially for smaller measurement tasks, but at the same time these applications also depend on precision and reliability, DEDITEC is expanding its portfolio with the UC series to include a total of ten single measurement modules for smaller measurement tasks. Compact housings combine interface, I/O module and, depending on the model, other components. All models in the UC-USB series are also equipped with a USB-C interface.

DEDITEC analog/digital converter modules

The UC-USB-AD2-16_ISO single measurement module is an analog-to-digital converter module with two AD channels, each with 16-bit resolution. With this equipment, the converter is suitable for measuring and monitoring voltages and currents. For example, a sensor converts physical variables such as pressure, temperature or humidity into currents between 0 and 24 mA or voltages between -10 and 10 volts, which are recorded by the module and can then be processed digitally.

The UC-USB-DA2-16_ISO: 16-bit D/A converter guarantees a secure, potential-free connection by galvanically isolating the two 16-bit channels. The isolation of the channels from each other and from the power supply protects the module and the connected microprocessor circuit.

DEDITEC digital/analog converter modules
The conversion of digital to analog signals is also used in a wide variety of applications. In addition to control tasks in which digital signals have to be converted to address actuators such as valves, servomotors or specific power supply units, analog signal transmission proves to be significantly less susceptible to interference and is therefore particularly suitable for industrial applications.

 

DEDITEC also relies on maximum safety for the D/A converter by galvanically isolating the two available channels from each other and from ground.
