The basis of the RO series is the interface. The serial interface is described below.

General

RS-232/RS-485 interface connection (electrically isolated)

Our RS-232/RS-485 modules have been developed for industrial use for measurement, control and regulation. The modules all have an RS-232/RS-485 interface and can therefore be easily connected to devices with a serial port (e.g. PC, terminal PC etc.). The modules are connected to the PC or another device with a serial port via a 9-pin D-Sub connector. The baud rate is 1.25 MBit – 300Bit. The module interface is galvanically isolated from the connected devices by means of optocouplers.

RS-232

On delivery, the interface module is in RS-232 mode as standard. The minimum form of RS-232 (also known as EIA-232) consists of a transmit signal (TX), receiver signal (RX) and ground (GND). The data transmission is asynchronous.

RS-485

By changing the jumpers, the module can easily be switched to RS-485 operation. The RS-485 (also known as EIA-485) has several receivers.
