The basis of the RO series is the interface. The CAN interface is described below.

General

Transmission rate (range up to 10km)

The transmission rates range from 1Mbit/s (under 50m) up to 10 Kbit/s (up to 10km). There is a choice of 1 Mbit/s, 500 Kbit/s, 250 Kbit/s, 125 Kbit/s, 100 Kbit/s, 50 Kbit/s, 20 Kbit/s or 10 Kbit/s.

Preferred mode

The preferred mode is used to set the device quickly and easily to specified default values. This is helpful for quick and easy commissioning of the module. An error analysis or initial commissioning is thus made easier.

Software mode

In software mode, the CAN interface is completely configured using the supplied PC software. The following settings can be made:

  • Transmission speed
  • Automatic transmission mode. This allows the RO module to send measurement data independently at certain time intervals
  • Automatic reception mode. Received packets are output to digital or analog outputs.
  • CAN 2.0A (11 bit addressing, “Base frame format”) or CAN 2.0B (29 bit addressing, “Extended frame format”)
  • For the DEDITEC CAN addressing mode: CAN interface address
  • Response module address (to which the responses are sent back)
