E-CPU-1000 Series / FPGA on board
Our ARM-9 CPU-modules have a preconfigured embedded FPGA already on board.
Hardware circuits that will be designed by VHSIC-code (Very High Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language) can be programmed in a FPGA.
Factory-provided a FPGA contains a bus interface, so that it is possible to connect to external memory devices or controllers by an address- /databus with controllsignals by one Hirose connector on the module.
Our used FPGA also contains a 24bit TTL-I/O interface, that allows the user to drive LED displays, buttons or even relays.
You also can change the content of the FPGA !
You get an request to change the actually hardware design of your FPGA for new requirements.
So now you can disable the external address-/data interface an use the according I/O lines for switching mode or other functions.
- FIFO modules within the FPGA can be used for fast communication with external devices.
- PWM outputs (e.g. engine controls) can be realized.
- High speed hardware counter can be programmed in the FPGA.
...and everything without incuring any hardware costs. The new functions will be developed on screen and transfered to the FPGA.
